How To Get Rid of Muffin Top: 11 Super Exercises For Sexy Abs

In a couple of months summer will be here again; that time when ladies put on their bikinis and the guys wear their speedos. Have you been working on your midsection and muffin top lately? If you have not started as yet, here are 11 muffin top exercises that will get you in shape for summer.

PLANKS

There are several versions, this is one type of intense exercise that helps with burning off muffin top. To get started, lay flat on your stomach and straighten your legs and then slowly lift up your body with your toes and hand. You may look like you are doing pushups.

Plank

Ensure your back is as straight as possible and your stomach is pulled in. Hold in this position for 10 seconds or longer, if you can’t hold up using your arms you can brace yourself using your forearms.

Swimming

SWIMM

This exercise works out all of your muscles even though it is not intense. It is good for your heart and it builds your glutes, legs, arms and shoulders.

Donkey kicks

A really good exercise to help get rid of those muffin top and tone up those legs. The best way to do it is to get down on all fours, pull in your stomach and with your knee at a 90 degrees angle kick back your left leg, keep in that position for 15 seconds then lower and repeat. You can switch to the other leg after 30 reps. Do 3 sets in total for more intensity

Push Ups

Your arms should be in line with your shoulders. Straighten your feet and they should be about hip width apart. Your head must be in line with your spine so the push-up is led by your chest. You can start with 10 push ups and then take a 5 second break in between.

Mountain Climbers

A simple exercise but very intense. Start out similar to the regular push up exercise. Bring your right knee directly under your chest and you left leg should be straight behind you; switch legs and repeat the same movement. You can now pick up speed and repeat this for 20 reps of 3 sets.

Cardio

CARDIO

Anything that gets your heart racing is good. There is no right or wrong cardio exercise, as long as you are happy with what you are doing to get rid of the muffin top. Cardio is key!

Target Your abs

Most times persons who really want to lose their muffin tops work on their abs alone without working out their entire body. To achieve overall fitness you have to work out the muscles in your legs, buttocks, stomach and chest.

Leg Raises

One of the main aim of this exercise is to burn off those belly fats. Start off by laying flat on your back with your arms by your side and your palms flat on the ground. Press your back towards the floor as you lift up your legs around 6 inches from the floor, hold for 30 seconds and then lower halfway, try not to lower them to the ground. Repeat by doing 10 reps of 2 sets.

Twist Toes Touches

Wondering how this helps? Well it’s pretty simple, your feet should be further apart from your shoulder width, place your hands on your hips and your knees should be straight. Here is the twist – you are going to then touch your left toes with your right fingers and then do the reverse- touch your right toes with your left fingers.

Repeat 15 times and you can go as fast as you can. Whew! What a work out?

Crunches

There are many types of crunches and they all help with losing those muffin top and belly bloats. Even though it may not be intense you can still get a good body work out. First is the incline crunch- to do this, simply lay flat on your back on an inclined crunch bench, you hands should be secured behind your neck.

Your lower back should be on the bench while you raise your upper torso as high as possible. You can do this for at least 10 times and then take 5 seconds break.

Second type of crunch is the reverse crunch which will require you to lay flat on the floor with both legs straight in front of you, next you are going to bend your feet and then lift them. Both legs should be together to form a 90 degrees angle.

Slowly bring your knees towards your face while you lift your hips from the floor. You can do this a few times as well – the main aim is to wok out your abs and those legs muscles.
